Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account information: name, email, phone (optional), and — for organisation accounts — business details, VAT number and team member information.
• Authentication data: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google. We never see your Google password.
• Usage data: pages viewed, searches, saved suburbs/complexes, AI concierge questions, and review/report submissions.
• Billing data: subscription plan and status. Card details are processed and stored by our payment provider (PayFast), not by us.
• Device/cookie data: session cookies to keep you signed in, and a small set of preference cookies (see the cookie banner). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

2. How we use it

We use your information to provide the service (account access, saved places, reports, billing), to moderate submitted reviews and content, to respond to support and contact requests, and to improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.

3. AI concierge & questions

Questions you ask the AI concierge are processed to generate an answer grounded in our suburb/complex data. We may use anonymised question patterns to improve answer quality, but we do not link concierge conversations to your identity for marketing purposes.

4. Sharing

We share information with service providers strictly to operate the platform: our hosting provider, our email provider (for transactional and support emails), and PayFast (for payment processing). If you submit an enquiry to an estate agency or organisation through the platform, your enquiry details are shared with that organisation so they can respond to you.

5. Your rights under POPIA

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@neighbourhoodiq.co.za. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by POPIA.

6. Data retention

We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, billing and dispute-resolution purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

8. Children

NeighbourhoodIQ is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
